Most people who are arrested have never had any experience with the criminal justice system, and the process can be very confusing. Obviously, finding the fastest way to get out of jail is a primary concern.

The Law Offices of Carl David Ceder offers a quick, dependable Writ Bond service in Collin County to those arrested in Plano, McKinney, Wylie, Allen, and all surrounding areas. Carl can help handle all jail release matters in Dallas County, including helping you, or your loved one, secure a "Writ Bond."  If you, or a loved one, was arrested for a misdemanor criminal offense and is being held in an outside, municipal jail (not Lew Sterrett), including in Garland, Mesquite, Addison, Highland Park, University Park, Balch Springs, Richardson, Irving, Coppell, or Desoto, you may be eligible to facilitate a faster release by utilizing an Attorney Writ Bond.

The first step you would otherwise have to go through before having the ability to bond out of jail without an attorney would be waiting for a magistrate judge to set a bail amount. Once an arrestee finally gets to see a magistrate, this judge will review the charges, notify the defendant of his or her rights, and then they would set a bond amount.  Often, this amount is based upon a number of factors, including any possible ties to the community, the nature and/or the severity of the offense, and whether there are any prior criminal offense convictions.

Depending on the day (or the time of day) one is arrested, as well as the number of other inmates also waiting to see the magistrate, waiting for this judge to set a bail amount can take a very, very long time – hours, or in many cases, even days. Without an attorney, the person in custody would be forced to remain in jail until a magistrate judge sets a bond amount. Anyone who has been arrested has the right to see a magistrate within a "reasonable" amount of time.  In Texas, this amount of time usually is within 48 hours.  Most people do not want to wait this long, because they have other things to tend to in life that would not get taken care of if the person has to sit in jail for a long period of time (employment, family commitments, etc.) An Attorney Writ Bond, which is by definition a "Writ of Habeas Corpus," negates the need for the person in jail to actually see a judge to set the bond amount before a release can be obtained.  In effect, therefore, securing an Attorney Writ Bond can help significantly speed the process up.
